Talib Kweli Sits Down With The Shrine Chicago from Cam Be on Vimeo.

Ever since I was a little girl Talib Kweli has been one of my favorite artists. I can remember listening to “Love Language” with my sisters and trying to pronounce his name with the two girls at the beginning of “The Blast”. Getting a chance to interview one of my favorite MCs was an honor and to top it off he is just as witty and thought provoking in person, as he is in his rhymes.

I sat down with Talib after his sold out performance at the Shrine Friday February 4th in Chicago IL. Talib put on an epic performance putting smiles on everyone’s faces with personal favorites like “Get By”, “Never Been In Love”, and “How You Love Me” - a new one off his fourth solo album Gutter Rainbows.

After the show we talked about his thoughts on Gutter Rainbows, his plans for his new album Prison of Consciousness, how artists should act in the industry, and who he thinks controls the fate of hip hop. Plus much much more
